Koach at Princeton
Koach is Princeton's student-run Conservative minyan. Koach holds programming that embraces elements of traditional Judaism in conjunction with modern values and embodies those ideals in weekly Friday night and Havdalah services, monthly Saturday morning services, and other social and holiday events. Koach aims to foster the next generation of enthusiastic Jewish leaders.
2024 Koach Board
President
Max
Hi everyone! I’m Max Hines, and it is an honor and a privilege to serve as your Koach president. I’m a Physics major (so help me G-d) from beautiful Pound Ridge, NY, and I’ve previously been both Communications Chair and Gabbai for Koach. I’m also a runner, a sportswriter, and a shtick-lover (aka OA leader). In the Jewish world, I love zmiros and tisches on Friday night, WhatsApp stickers I only somewhat understand, and playing for the oldest, and only Jewish broomball team, the Hebruins. And I love Koach!
Gabbai
Niv
Hello! I’m a freshman from the great Silver Spring, Maryland. Currently I am planning to major in Politics or Computer Science. I spent the past two years studying in Yeshivat Orayta and Yeshivat Maale Gilboa in Israel. Here at Princeton I teach Hebrew school and dance for Highsteppers - stay tuned for our spring show… I’m excited to make davening run smoothly and give everyone the opportunity to connect to davening in a meaningful way. If you have any questions about leading davening/giving a dvar, want earlier/later times, or any other gabbai related questions or comments please let me know!
Programming Chair
Andrew
Hi! I’m a sophomore so excited about conservative Judaism and programming! I love helping with social events and getting Koach free coffee! Outside of Koach I am a mechanical and aerospace major and am involved in the daily newspaper. My favorite program was last semester’s DIY hannukiah!!
Treasurer
Emmett
Hi! I’m a freshman studying math from Teaneck, NJ, and I deeply treasure my position on the Koach board this year. I took a gap year before Princeton at the Hartman Institute, and I’m currently training to be an OA leader. I’m really grateful to be part of the Koach community, and I’m excited to help fund some awesome programming!
Social Chair
Aaron
Hi! My name is Aaron and I’m so excited to serve as your social chair for the next two semesters! I’m from beautiful Chicago, Illinois, and at this point in time, I’m hoping to major in politics. Unfortunately my musical tastes change every six weeks or so, but I would say I’m in my ‘60s folk / Appalachian music era right now (my disco era last semester was… interesting). If you have any: questions, suggestions, concerns, comments, compliments, et cetera, please feel free to email me at af1354@princeton.edu.
Education Chair
Tali
Hi! I’m Tali Goldman ‘27, an art history major from Highland Park, NJ. I could not be more excited to be Education Chair this year! At Princeton, I’m also a campus art tour guide and serve on the art museum’s Student Advisory Board. In my free time, I love painting, spending time at Koach coffee tabs, and playing board games. I can’t wait to plan fun and engaging educational programming for Koach, and would LOVE to hear what you all want to discuss and learn this year in the Koach community!
Communications Chair
Amalia
Hi! I’m Amalia ’27, and I’m so excited to be your communications chair this year! I’m from Chevy Chase, Maryland, and I am currently undecided on my major. Outside of Koach, I play flute in Sinfonia and am a conductor for Camerata. Please reach out if you have any ideas for fun things to add to our newsletters, have any questions, or just want to chat!
